Amethyst: Use It Like Wine
My favorite magickal stone is the amethyst. Besides being purple and pretty, it’s versatile and holds a charge really well. I use it a lot in healing and amplifying psychic power and trance.
Lavender (lavandula officianalis): Magickal Xanax!
Lavender is probably the most popular herb I’ve run across. It has tons of medicinal and magickal uses, and most of them are centered around its legendary calming and relaxing effects. Check the label on your favorite herbal Sleepytime or Dream Enhancer tea and you’ll definitely find lavender among its ingredients.

I hate the cold. I just can’t deal with it. In the winter I only leave the house when I absolutely cannot help it. I hibernate, as regular readers may have noticed: sometime around Samhain I just disappear. It’s a terrible thing to do, and I know that even as I’m doing it, but I just can’t seem to get my shit together in the winter.
Hooray for Summer, then! I usually begin to really get my mojo back around Beltane, and especially now, around the official astrological beginning of summer. So to celebrate, I’m pushing back my next mythology post (sorry, Lakshmi, if you can hang on until next week, I promise I’ll do you right) and examining the sabbat.
Sage (salvia officinalis): Metaphysical Mr Clean
Sage is probably my favorite magickal herb. It’s so versatile! It’s the best cleaner for the energies in an area, or surrounding a person. It’s grounding, and can be used for spells from business issues to increasing your psychic abilities.
