Death is a fairly dramatic card, and not in a “THE DEATH CARD!! BWAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH!!!” kind of way. Death is a signifier of change, transformation and rebirth.

Tuesday/Thursday Tarot: The Hanged Man
Because I give up!
Anyway…
The Hanged Man is probably the most famous Tarot card. I know I was aware of it before beginning to actually study and use the cards. This one and the Death card are the ones most often used in popular culture to emphasize the “woooo…scary” aspects of the use of the Tarot. Now that I know more, it always makes me laugh, because these are so NOT the scary cards. Give me the Hanged Man over the Tower, or the Three of Swords any day.
Inanna: Royalty & Renewal
Inanna is a Sumerian goddess of love. She is known as the Queen of Heaven and is part of a well known Descent to the Underworld myth. Like Kore/Persephone, Inanna traveled to the underworld and by doing so, caused radical changes in the environment.
What?!?
Have you guys seen this?
Satanic Panic Strikes After Gory Florida Murders
Just goes to show that everything’s a cycle. It also reminds me of the funniest line in theĀ True Blood books: “The Wiccans are preparing to attack!”
Book Review: Neil Gaiman’s American Gods
“Hey,” said Shadow. “Huginn or Muninn, or whoever you are.”
The bird turned, head tipped, suspiciously, on one side and it stared at him with bright eyes.
“Say ‘Nevermore'”, said Shadow.
“Fuck you,” said the raven. It said nothing else as they went through the woodland together.
Tuesday/Thursday Tarot: Justice
I apologize for the lateness; I’ve been traveling a lot and getting ready to move, so things kind of got away from me this week.
Anyway, let’s get to Justice, an important card in the Major Arcana. Case begins the lesson quoting what he calls an occult maxim: “Equilibrium is the basis of the Great Work.” This is an important point in ceremonial magick, witchcraft, folk magick and any other work you might undertake to do. Balance is incredibly important in all things.
Amethyst: Use It Like Wine
My favorite magickal stone is the amethyst. Besides being purple and pretty, it’s versatile and holds a charge really well. I use it a lot in healing and amplifying psychic power and trance.
